All the fun of the school run!

So you finally get out of the door after the manic getting ready for school nightmare that just happened.I won’t bore you with that though,my post is about what happens next…

As we start off,the neighbourhood’s 4623 cats get pointed out. “Oh look Mum there’s another cat over there” *grits teeth* “yes darling there’s a bit of a shortage of those around here isn’t there? So glad you spotted another one

Then it’s onto Rock Henge, where the kidsΒ have to stand at the top shouting “I’m the King of the castle” and I shout back “Get down you…might fall in dog poo” No idea where it came from?Maybe some drunk students got bored one night!

Onto the weir whatchamacallit which inevitably makes one of the kids (or me) want to wee.Despite me asking them a bazillion, gazillion times before we left the house.I think they cleaned it just for me to take this pic though – it’s usually full of Maccy D’s wrappers and bits of bike!

Then we check the trees for squirrels, the best I’ve ever seen in those trees is a squirrel fighting with 2 magpies. He was giving them what for and shaking his little fist-paw whilst they did that horrible cackle thing they do.Of course I didn’t encourage him by shouting “smack them on the head with your nuts” (in my head obvs- there’s little ears present)

We then negotiate some busy roads – I didn’t take any pics of those I didn’t fancy getting in a fight with a Landrover.Just before we get to school we all have to stop and laugh at this:

Can’t for the life of me think why though πŸ˜‰

And that’s our school run!I refuse to take the car due to the parking wars and you can just see the delights I’d miss out on πŸ™‚

What’s your school run like?

  1. Haha love it! Shame you don’t have many cats to see though… πŸ˜‰ I briefly thought you were suggesting that the dog poo came from drunk students. I have now reflected, had a word with myself, & concluded that the rock henge, not the poo, may have come from drunk students! #picknmix

  2. Luckily we have to drive to school as I have two schools to go to now at the opposite ends of town. It’s lucky because Harley walks at the speed of your average snail…he ran for the school at the St Austell area athletics championships last year as he’s a fast runner….and yet walking it seems like he’s going backwards! I usually have at least 2 extra kids piled in the car too so have to kerb my usually road rage swearing!
Thanks for linking up to #Picknmix lovely

  3. It’s perfect! Somedays I love school run and somedays I just wish for that I could drive in a flash. I really like the morning fresh air it really waken up the kids, doesn’t it? I love your last artefact find of the morning. What perfect way to start off the day. πŸ™‚ #PicknMix

  4. Your views on the school run are much nicer than ours! We have the pleasure of seeing lots of residentials streets. I hate parking wars too – on the occasions where I have to drive we still have to leave at the same time as we would do it we walked! #PicknMix

  5. lol you gotta love the way kids think! Our school run is in the car. I load everyone in & drive about 2 miles to the school. We are lucky to live so close but not quite close enough to walk & enjoy the sights like you guys #picknmix x
