My kids love anything that involves slime or goo so when we were offered the chance to review some Glam Goo it wasn’t hard to say yes. We received the Glam Goo Deluxe pack.
Inside the box we found:
- 1 Glitter Purse
- 1 Double Ring
- 1 container of Glam Goo
- 3 slime decorations (Cloud Crunch, Daydreams, and Unicorn Tears)
- 2 sparkle colours (Electric Blue and Pinky Promise)
- 1 scent (Violet Vibes)
- 1 Mixing Spoon
The bag opens with a turn of the pink knob at the top and also has a shoulder strap to allow your child to carry it.
The shimmer powders come in small plastic pots with screw on/off lids. The decorations come in plastic tubes with pop off lids.
The Glam Goo comes in a good sized container with a foil lid that needs to be removed as well as a plastic lid to keep it safe and from drying out if you don’t use it all in one go. It starts off clear before you add any colours or glitter to it. It was stickier than we expected but we soon learnt not to handle it more than necessary. There is also a suggestion in the instructions that if you do find it too sticky for your liking you can add a pinch of baking soda to a small amount of water and mix it into the slime. We didn’t feel that we needed to do that.
The instructions advise that you should cover the table just in case which is something we didn’t do as our poor old table has endured years of kids colouring and all sorts of other things so we weren’t too bothered however if it was new or the area was carpeted I would have used a wipe clean tablecloth.
Then came the really fun part! Deciding which colours and decorations to add! The dinky spoon is really handy as it ensures your child doesn’t just dump the whole lot out in one go.
There are several ‘recipes’ suggested in the leaflet but I let my duaghter have free reign to explore and make her own concoctions. She experimented with the glitters, colours and scent to make her own special goo. These are what she came up with. We found it easiest to put the colour and decorations on the top then fold the goo over a few times to spread them throughout.
The Glam Goo purse has a heart space in it for putting in your own goo, Little Lady chose to put this one in. Pretty isn’t it?!
The ring also has a large space for you to put some of your goo in, the top half of the ring pops off for you to put the goo of your choice inside, this time time chose the blue one she had made.
Inside the Glam Goo case are 9 seperate compartments for you to store your different goo’s – we did fill all of them, there is enough goo but we wanted to show how it looked.
There is also a seperate clear pink lid to keep the goo safe and stop it drying out.
As you can see Little Lady was really chuffed with her Glam Goo set and has played with it ever since. Being inside the bag with the plastic lid on has kept it just as gooey as when she made it.
The Glam Goo Deluxe Pack is available at Argos, The Entertainer and Smyths Toy Superstores priced at £29.99.
