Review | Easiyo Yoghurt Maker

*Contains gifted items.

My children love to get hands on in the kitchen and help me make cakes, peel veg, that kind of thing so when we were offered the Easiyo Make Your Own Yoghurt Starter Pack to make our own yoghurt we thought it sounded like a great idea!

Inside the box:

The pack comes with:

  • Red Yogurt Maker
  • 1kg Yogurt Jar
  • Strawberry Flavour Yoghurt Base
  • Raspberry Flavour Yoghurt Base
  • Information leaflet

First, fill the Easiyo Jar to halfway – there is a line on the jar to mark this but I couldn’t get a great picture of it – with water 15-20 degrees.

Pour in your chosen sachet contents, close the lid up and then shake well to mix.,

Add more water until the jar is filled to 5mm from the top – again this is marked – and then give it a good shake again.

For the next part I took over as it involves boiling water. Pour in boiling water until the spacer is covered (approx 1200ml).

Put the jar inside the yoghurt maker.

Pop the lid on and leave for 8-12 hours.

The Finished Product

Once the 8-12 hours is up (we left it for 12 overnight) remove the jar from the maker and pop it in the fridge.

Once chilled you can enjoy it with your chosen accompaniments or alone.

Our Thoughts

I’m going to be honest and say the first lot we tried didn’t work at all and we had to try again, however we know that this was in our excitement to get it done we didn’t check that the water was warm enough. I believe it was too cold and thus the yoghurt did not set. Once we tried again using warmer water it came out perfectly.

It’s super easy to use and great for getting the kids involved with you in the kitchen. It was really interesting to see it go from just a packet of powder to an actual jar of yoghurt.

The yoghurt will last for up to 2 weeks in the fridge, keeping it in the jar is fab because you can just spoon out the amount you want when you want so it be added to breakfast, packed lunches, fruit for dessert, all manner of things.

It’s easy to clean, the jar can just be washed with your usual items and the maker just needs to be wiped around. Overall we really enjoyed using it to make yoghurt and will continue to use it.
