Exante Diet Week 2

Can you believe week 2 of my Exante diet is already done?! If you missed week 1 you can read more here. I’m delighted to say that I have stuck to it 100% and haven’t found it difficult at all. I’m amazed at myself that I haven’t caved at all, not when there was a table full of doughnuts and cookies at work, not even when Jon came home with a box of coconut biscuits (anyone who knows me knows how much I adore anything coconut).

Thoughts this week

I’m really glad I chose to start documenting my journey, what sort of blogger would I be if I didn’t? I feel it makes me more accountable, I’ve put it out there now so I’m even more determined to see it through. I don’t want to be one of those people who goes on and on about being on a diet so I haven’t really talked about it to my family, I want to see if they notice when it starts to show that I’ve dropped a few pounds.

Last week I spoke about the effects on my tummy, thankfully the gurgling noises and windy feeling have settled, I have also found that by mixing the products helps hugely as it seems to be exacerbated by having more than one of the meal replacement bars. By having a mixture of shakes, puddings and only one bar I’ve found it much better.

I have tried all of the savoury meal replacements, I really wanted to like them but they are just not for me.  Luckily as I have a sweet tooth the other products suit me much better and of the ones I’ve tried so far I haven’t found one I don’t like.

This weeks favourite products have been the strawberry jam & yoghurt bar shown below, it’s a lovely crunchy bar covered in yoghurt and has a sweet sticky layer of strawberry jam across the top. Eating these it’s really difficult to remember it’s a diet food!

Another favourite has been the chocolate and butterscotch delights. Very much like the Angel Delight we had as kids as a treat these made me very happy in both a trip down memory lane and a party in the mouth way. If I had to choose only 1 it would be the chocolate one for sure, it doesn’t look much in the bowl but I honestly struggle to eat it all.

What I lost

So initially I felt a little disappointed that I hadn’t lost more but I soon talked myself around that actually 3lb is a lot to lose in a week and a loss is a loss however big or small and as it adds up over the weeks to come I will get to where I want to be. At some point I will reveal what my starting and current weights are but I am still in the shame stage at what I have allowed it to get to. Being 5’2 I can’t carry extra weight well and it shows. Everywhere. Particularly in my face so I’m really looking forward to losing my bulldog chops.

I will however treat you to a scary picture of me in my shorts. I’m trying to take more photos even though I hate them so I can see my progress. Here’s to week 3!
